Error: Package must be valid for selected appeal - when updating appeal from one batch

When entering a gift for an appeal in a batch, after being prompted with "The [Appeal Name] appeal is not listed on the constituent's record. Would you like to add the appeal using the settings below?" Clicking Yes results in the error message but only on specific records. It does not matter what settings you select - you get the error message regardless. This message occurs even when selecting a package that is valid for the selected appeal.
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.

Alternative Solution
1. Commit the batch without updating the appeal information on the constituents in question
2. Manually update the appeal information on the constituent's record

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In any batch for particular constituents enter a gift with an appeal that is not on the constituent's record
  2. After tabbing to the next line in batch receive the prompt "The [Appeal Name] appeal is not listed on the constituent's record. Would you like to add the appeal using the settings below?"
  3. Click Yes
  4. Receive the Error message
Note: This only happens in for particular constituents but it happens consistently for those constituents in all batches with all appeals
