Why Can't a Schedule Manager Edit Faculty Schedule Restrictions?

When using the Faculty list in onRecord, Schedule Managers are unable to see the setting block for a teacher on their schedule tab.
Schedule Managers are unable to see this block because only Platform Managers are able to edit Schedule Restrictions for Faculty members. We can give users access to this by cloning the role of Platform Manager and enabling the required tasks.
  1. Go to Core > Users/Access > Profile
  2. Click Manage Roles
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Give your new role an appropriate name and mark the radio button next to the Platform Manager role and click next
  5. Click Next again as we are unable to edit the tasks we need for now
  6. Add in the users you wish to assign this role to and then click Save & Exit
Once back on the list of roles we will click on the role we just created and then click on Tasks to edit into the role's tasks. Click on the Edit button and enable the following tasks:
Note: If the task has a check box for Desktop and App, both need to be checked.
  • Curriculum - Master Page
  • View Faculty Detail
  • User Profile
  • Edit Faculty Schedule Settings
Once these tasks have been enabled, click the Save & Exit button and the users given this role will now be able to see the Settings box with the edit button.
Note: Changes to a role's task can take up to 15 minutes for the change to take effect.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Impersonate a Schedule Manager
  2. Go to onRecord > Lists > Faculty
  3. Click on a faculty member's name to go to their profile
  4. Notice that the settings section is not there
