Account Code Description does not populate when creating an new Account record in General Ledger

If default descriptions are setup, the account code description should automatically populate when creating a new General Ledger account record.
Verify that the default descriptions are setup
  1. In General Ledger, go to Configuration > Account Setup
  2. Select Default Descriptions
  3. In the Field Name box, select Account Code Description
  4. Enter a value for Length
  5. Go back to Records > Accounts to try creating the new account again 

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In General Ledger  > Records > Accounts, select Add a New Account
  2. Enter the appropriate account number
  3. Hit Tab or click outside of the Account Number box
  4. Description does not automatically populate with value based on the selected account code
