1. Click Communications
  2. Click Manage Communications
  3. Click on the category where the template is stored
  4. Click on the name of the template
  5. Click into the block of text that has the merge field
  6. Double-click on the merge field, or click Insert eTapestry Merge Field to add a new one
  7. Click on the Options tab
  8. Fill in the Default Value
  9. Click Insert
  10. Click Update
  11. Click Save and Finish
