I have historical grants that I know longer need in my GIFTS or Alta database and I would like to delete them in batch.
You cannot delete requests in batch because you have to delete any payments that are associated to them. Therefore, you have to open each request and delete the payments and then delete the request. But, Gifts and Alta come with a Purge utility that will allow you to Purge according to criteria you set. In order to Purge a group of requests or grants do the following steps:
1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACK UP OF YOUR GIFTS DATABASE. 2. From a GIFTS/ Alta workstation browse and go to the GIFTS directory on your GIFTS file server or on you local drive if GIFTS / Alta is installed locally and locate the gfwpurge.exe and double click on it to open. You will be notified to make sure you have a backup of your GIFTS / Alta database and click yes to proceed. 3. Log into to utility as an Admin and Select the criteria that meets your needs for purging:
4. Click on the Purge button and a dialog box will populate telling you what actions will be taken:
5. Click on YES to proceed and another dialog box will populate telling you how many records meet your criteria - click on YES to proceed.
6. The utility will run and you will then get a message that your records have been purged.
Steps to Duplicate
I select multiple requests to batch delete and GIFTS / Alta does not give you the option to delete.
