How to create a query to look at everyone except non-Head of Household spouses (organizations, individuals with no spouse, individuals with a non-constituent spouse):

The query above is handy to omit non-Head of Household spouses. However, if the criteria above is added to an existing query, the overall results could be affected. For the most accurate query results, create the query created in the numbered steps above as its own query. Then use this in the Record Processing options of Query to "query within a query":
  1. Create the query in the numbered steps above. Ensure it is saved and closed.
  2. Create a new dynamic constituent Query.
  3. Click on Tools in the top menu and select Query Options.
  4. Click on the Record Processing tab.
  5. Mark Select from query.
  6. Click the binoculars to search for the query saved in numbered steps above.
  7. Double click on its name in the results to add it.
  8. Optionally, click on Gift Processing Tab and review soft credit and matching gift options.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click on the Criteria tab to add desired filters. (Note: Don't add any Head of Household related filters here. The query added in Query options is handling removal of non-Head of Household spouses.)
  11. Click on Output and Sort tabs to add desired fields.
  12. Click Run to preview the query results. The query added in steps 1 through 9 will run first to group all the organizations, individuals with no spouse, and individuals with a non-constituent spouse. Then the current query will run within that grouping.
