Information changes in batch when linking gift to event

When linking a gift in an uncommitted batch to an event, the batch is reapplying the defaults to the gift. If the gift was marked as Do Not Acknowledge, but the default is set to Not Acknowledged, the gift will be changed from Do No Acknowledge to Not Acknowledged.
We have evaluated this issue as a bug and we have determined it will not be addressed in the program in its current state.  In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers.

Alternate workaround
Link gift to the event before applying to any defaults

Steps to Duplicate

1. In a gift batch, enter defaults for the Acknowledgement, Receipt, Post Status to Not Acknowledge, Not Receipted, Not Posted.
2. Fill in a gift so the defaults fill into the row.
3. Change the Acknowledge, Receipt and/or Post to Do Not XXX
4. Click Gift > Links > Events > Other Donation.
5. Link the gift.
6. When you get back to the batch, the status have reverted to the defaults.
