This could happen in Altru since the Constituent Lookup ID and Membership ID use the same numbering scheme. If you do not want one person's Constituent Lookup ID to be the same number as another person's Membership ID, you can resolve the issue in one of the following ways:
  1. On the Constituent's record, you can click Edit Lookup ID to change someone's Constituent Lookup ID. Note: This cannot be changed via import or batch, but must be done one-by-one.
  2. On the membership record, you can click Other Tasks, then choose to Edit membership ID to change someone's Membership ID. Note: This cannot be changed via import or batch, but must be done one-by-one.
  3. You can purchase a data service from Blackbaud to alter the Lookup IDs and Membership IDs so they no longer match. This service will overwrite any custom Lookup IDs or Membership IDs you have.
Alternatively, you can also use a different number to search for constituents that check into Daily Sales. For example, instead of using Membership ID as a scannable barcode on membership cards, you could use Card Number instead to bring up that unique member in Daily Sales.
