If we don't have a renewal window, why does an expired membership keep the old Expiration Date?

You may notice that, when you don't have any renewal window set up, expired members are still being issued renewals, which causes them to keep their old expiration date. This means that they lose some membership time.
To resolve this issue you will need to add a renewal window and save the settings. Then remove that renewal window again.
  1. Click Memberships > Click on the name of the membership
  2. Click on the Renewals tab > Click edit
  3. Click on the Renewal Windows End field and choose a month greater than 0
  4. User-added image
  5. Click save
  6. Click the edit button under the renewal tab again
  7. Change the Renewal Window ends field back to 0 months
  8. Click save

Steps to Duplicate

1. In Sales>Daily Sales, Search for a constituent who had their membership expire last month.
2. Click Memberships>Renew the membership. Save this.
3. Complete the order.
4. Go to the Constituent Record, click the membership. See that the Expiration Date is for the previous month.
