The Congressional District field for constituents is a Code Table. To locate the Congressional District Code Table:
  1. Go to Administration>Code Tables
  2. Change the Category to Biographical
  3. Click Congressional District to add and edit entries in this table.
From here, we would want to add in the Congressional Districts relevant to our Constituents:
  1. Click Add at the top of this table.
  2. For the Description, fill in the name of a Congressional District. These are generally the State abbreviation followed by the number. For example, Blackbaud is in SC 1.
  3. Click Save at the bottom.
Once we have filled out our Congressional Districts in the Code Table, we'll need to apply these to Constituent Records.
  1. On a constituent record, click the Contact tab.
  2. Click the arrows next to the Current Address, and click Edit.
  3. Click the Details tab, and we'll see the Congressional District space here.
Once these are filled in on records, we could then query on the Congressional Districts.
  1. Go to Analysis>Information Library
  2. Click Add an Ad-hoc query and select the Constituents source view.
  3. From here, click Address (Primary) in the left column, and we'll find Congressional District in the middle column.
