1. If you haven't used the OData feature in your database before, ensure you have configured OData in your system. How to configure OData
  2. Next, form an Altru query, click Get OData Link and copy the link provided. For more information, view our related solution: How to generate the OData link
  3. Once your link is copied, open a new Excel Workbook
  4. Go to the Data tab. In the Get Data menu, select From Other Sources and click From OData Feed:

  5. In the next screen, ensure Basic is selected and under URL, paste your OData link. Click OKUser-added image
  6. When the next screen pops, select Basic on the left. Under Username, enter BLACKBAUDHOST\ and your Altru username (in this example, the username is RachelNi5740, so it should be entered as "BLACKBAUDHOST\RachelNi5740.") Under Password, enter your Altru password. Under Select which level to apply these settings to, you can select to apply these credentials to the overall server (first link), your database (second link) or to a specific query (third link).   7. Excel will then provide you with a preview of the data. You will need to click either Load, which will load the data in a table in your workbook, or click Load To, which will give you some additional options: User-added image
  8. Repeat Steps 1-7 to load additional queries into your Excel workbook if desired. 
If you need to update the credentials associated with this feed, follow these steps: 
  1. Go to the Data tab and click Get Data. From the menu, click Data Source Settings: User-added image
  2. Highlight the link you would like to change permissions for. Click Edit permissions: User-added image
  3. In the next screen, click Edit under Credentials. Excel will them prompt you to enter the new credentials: User-added image
