This report can be created using eTapestry's Report feature. It makes use of the field aggregate setting in order summarize Journal Entry amounts.

Note: Since this report is using aggregates, the figures cannot be drilled-down (clicked on) to list the gifts. To run a report that can be drilled-down to review its details, please refer to How to report on total Received and/or Pledged by fund

The following example creates a report that totals Received for the current calendar year and the five prior calendar years. Pledged or Raised can also be used as well as using  Fiscal Year instead of Calendar Year. For consistent results, ensure the same field and similar aggregate settings are used.

To build the report:
  1. Click on Reports > Manage Reports.
  2. Find the desired category to save the report in.
  3. Click New Report under the category name.
  4. Enter a name for the report, such as Fund totals for past 5 years.
  5. Scroll down to Report Columns section.
  6. Under the Browse Fields tab with Commonly Used Fields in the drop-down, click on Fund.
  7. Scroll up to the Group Results section.
  8. Set Group By to Fund.
  9. Under Fund, select Collapse Groups.
  10. Set Collapse Upgrades/Segments? to No.
  11. Return back down to the Browse Fields tab with Commonly Used Fields in the drop-down, click on Received six times to add six instances of this field.
  12. After Fund, locate the first Received field.
  13. Click on the three blue dots to open its details.
  14. Click on Received and type the column name Received Year to Date.
  15. Set the Aggregate to Year to Date.
  16. Repeat steps 13 through 15 on each of the remaining Received fields setting names and aggregates as follows:

  17. Click Save or Save and Run

To run the report:
  1. Navigate to the report's location.
  2. Click Run Report under its name.
  3. For 1. Query, select Category of Base and Query of All Journal Entries - JE
  4. For 2. Export As, leave settings as they appear
  5. For 3. Delivery Options, set desired report format and options
  6. Click Submit. (Note: Since this report is using aggregates, the figures cannot be drilled-down (clicked on) to list the gifts. To run a report that can be drilled-down to review its details, please refer to How to report on total Received and/or Pledged by fund.)
