Error: Your server connection may have been temporarily lost. You may need to click your browser's refresh button or log in to the application again. when doing various tasks in CRM

Users may notice this error while working and completing random tasks within the CRM application after upgrading to v4.0 SP14.
This error is due to a security change within CRM v4.0 SP14.  We've made this change to prevent unencrypted session cookies from being intercepted. If you use the application in http, you may see the following error:
'Your server connection may have been temporarily lost. You may need to click your browser's refresh button on log in to the application again.' 


To resolve this, run CRM in https. Ex. https://www.blackbaudCRM.com/browser/default.aspx

If it is necessary to run in http, or your load balancer configuration is set to offload SSL, you can disable the application setting in the web.config although Blackbaud does not recommend this approach. To do so, use add the following app key to the app settings section of the config file.
  1. Open your web.config file, which is under [CRM Installation Path]\AppFx\vroot\
  2. Add this key to the appsettings section:     <add key="TransmitSessionCookiesOverHttps" value="false" />
  3. Save the file
