Schools can use a checklist item with the checklist type: Recommendation which will give Parents of Candidates/Candidates the ability to request a Letter of Recommendation.
Parent of Candidate/Candidate view when Candidate Publishing Options is set to Yes. The Parent of Candidate/Candidate will see the Checklist step on the Admissions Progress screen.
When the Parent of Candidate/Candidate clicks on the Start button, they see the following:

When a Parent of Candidate/Candidate clicks Send Request, it is sent to the email address added in the Recommendation Recipient Email Field. The Recipient then receives the following email:
If the Recommendee clicks to complete the recommendation, this screen will appear:
If the Recommendee clicks to decline the recommendation, this screen will appear:
When the Recommendation is submitted, an Admissions Manager will need to process it through onBoard > Process > File Submissions. Once the Recommendation file is processed, then it will appear on the Candidate Profile, under the Record tab in the Recommendations section.
Once the Recommendation is processed and marked Completed, then the Parent of Candidate/Candidate will see it marked as Completed on the Checklist.

As an Admissions Manager, the first step is to setup Recommendation Types through Enrollment Management > Admissions > Admissions setup > Candidate Profile Settings > Recommendation Types. For example, a school may need to request several recommendations such as English or Math. Setting up Recommendation Types allows an Admissions Manager to run a worklist and pull information just on English or Math Recommendations.
The next step is to add a Checklist item with the Recommendation Type. This can be done through Enrollment Management Admissions Admissions setup > Checklists. Edit the Checklist and under the Milestone, click on Add Step and the following field questions will come up: Type: Recommendation Name: This is the checklist item name that appears on the Admin view of the Checklist Due Date: when the checklist item needs to be submitted by Reminder: If the checklist item has not been completed, would you like a reminder to go out to the Parent of Candidate/Candidate Staff: When you assign a Staff to the checklist item, the Staff can see on the onBoard Schedule, the due datae for the Checklist item as well as a list of Candidates that have not completed the checklist tiem:
Required: Yes/No Candidate Publishing Options: Yes/No Step Name: Appears on the Parent of Candidate/Candidate Checklist Step Description: Appears on the Parent of Candidate/Candidate Checklist when you click on the Step Name Link: Add a url to this field, if the school is using another software for recommendations. File: Upload a file that you want the Recommendee to download and fill out. Allow Recommendation Request: When Allow Recommendation Request is set to Yes the following options appear: Upon processing, attach to recommendation type: Dropdown will show options that have been added throughEnrollment Management > Admissions > Admissions setup > Candidate Profile Settings > Recommendation Types Recommendation Recipient Label: The label a Parent of Candidate/Candidate will see to enter in the Recommendee's name. Recommendation E-mail Subject: The label that will appear to Parent of Candidate/Candidate where they will add the E-mail Subject that will appear to the Recommendee. Recommendation E-mail Text: This text will appear in the Email above the links to either Reommend or Not Recommend for the Recommendee. Recommendation Page Text: This text will appear once the Recommendee clicks to complete or deny the Recommendation. The text appears on the left side of the screen for the Recommendee.
