Unable to update Spouse phone in Constituent Import

Spousal phone or email numbers are not updated when using a constituent import.
Validation Error: A duplicate phone number and phone type exists. Remove the duplicate to save the record.
Validation Error: Import ID must be unique

This is not a duplicate number because the import is updating the constituent record.
 We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. In the meantime use a Individual relationship or Spouse Phone import

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Create the import file based on How to import a constituent and a spouse in the same file (includes sample data file)
  2. Click Admin>Import>Constituent>Constituent
  3. Click New
  4. Mark Update Existing records
  5. Mark Validate Data Only
  6. Choose the import file
  7. Click Use Constituent ID
  8. Click Validate Now
  9. Validation errors occurs
  • Validation Error: Import ID must be unique
