I want to make changes to an account that is set up for automatic debit, but I don't know if the payment is in process. Do I have time to stop the payment and make adjustments to their billing?
When an automatic debit payment is in process, you will see an amount under the Paid column on the family's Billing Summary page for the month the payment is due. You may click on the amount to view the payment details:
Automatic Debit payments go into process one business day prior to the due date and cannot be stopped by Blackbaud Smart Tuition. We recommend that changes to billing be made at least 3 business days prior to the due date. For example: The payment is due on Monday April 9, 2018. We send the files to the banks on Thursday, April 5 and the payment goes into process on Friday, April 6. The Keep in mind that bank holidays are not considered business days.
The Prior To Debit Emails that are generated to families, include an alert that the payments go into process 1 business day prior to the due date. They must have funds available in order to successfully collect the payment.
