On the Home page of the school's Smart Aid account, there is an interactive map. This map boasts several features including pins where applicants are geographically and several filtering tools. Schools may inquire about the features and functions of this interface.
On the Home page, Smart Aid provides a map feature that pins the geographic location of every applicant family. The map operates as a you expect it to in a Google maps environment in terms of grabbing the map, zooming in and out, etc. The top of the Map section contains a button with two opposite arrows, this button will maximize the map to a full screen view. The green Edit Filters button allows customization of Adjusted Gross Income. The map may also be filtered by Status, Grade, and Adjusted Gross Income by clicking on the blue buttons and choosing from the drop down.
Generally, this map is most useful for higher level discussions around trends, how financial aid applications intersect with admissions applicants, a tool for marketing, etc. The map does not directly influence financial aid award processing or decisions, but provides very useful data for strategic discussions.
