When a patron from another country attempts to make a payment online, they receive this error after entering their credit card information. The error Please check the billing address or try another payment method. shows up no matter what card or address they put in.
Check your AVS settings. Some international banks do not participate in AVS checks and this can cause an error when trying to process the card. To check those settings:
Go to Revenue > Blackbaud Payment Service Merchant Accounts
Choose your live payment service provider (BBMS or Cybersource) and click Edit
On AVS level, select Light or None
NOTE: We recommend Light if you still want to use AVS settings as it will give you the same security level as Medium but make allowances for banks that do not participate.
