Turkish Lira symbol displays as a question mark on the Raiser's Edge

Users may have the Turkish Lira selected as their currency on their Windows workstation. However,  the '₺' Lira  symbol does not appear in currency fields and a '?' question mark is displayed in the Raiser's Edge instead.

The Turkish Lira characters are not currently supported in the Raiser's Edge. We recommend adding any program suggestions to our Ideas Community page. Our developers check here first when building program enhancements to see what our users are most interested in seeing implemented.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Click Start, Control Panel, Region and Language
  2. Change the format to Turkish
  3. Click Additional Settings on the Formats tab
  4. Click on the Currency tab
  5. Adjust the currency to Turkish Lira
  6. Click Apply, OK
  7. Log back into the Raiser's Edge and open any gift record. A '?' question mark displays next to the gift amount.
