Duplicate Constituent Management Tool does not find imported duplicate records

I imported new constituents from a data file that had constituents with the same name, address, and email on multiple lines. After importing them, the Duplicate Constituent Management Tool does not find them as duplicates. However, they are found in duplicate searches run directly from constituent records.
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. When importing new constituents, utilize the Use duplicate criteria for new records to check a data set for possible duplicates with existing records in The Raiser's Edge.

Steps to Duplicate

In the sample Raiser's Edge:
  1. Complete an import of new constituents using a formatted import data file that has the same information (name, address, and an email) on multiple rows.
  2. Go to Admin > Duplicate Constituent Management Tool.
  3. Run a new search for individuals or organization (depending on records in the file).
  4. Review the results. The imported rows will now show.
  5. Close the Tool.
  6. Navigate to Records > Constituents and search for one of the imported new constituents.
  7. Open any of the records.
  8. In the open constituent record, click on Constituent in the top menu bar and then Search for duplicates.
  9. The imported duplicates will appear in the results.
