BBIS scheduled e-mails fail to send when the template has an external link

BBIS scheduled e-mails do not send if the template contains an external link. If you review the list and messages tab you can see this attempting to send over and over but it is not sent.
 

Download and install the latest patch, which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.

Workaround: There are two potential workarounds.  The first involves updating all links within the email to internal links to placeholder pages and configuring URL Redirects to send those pages to the desired external link.  The second follows a similar approach, but utilizes Javascript loaded into Unformatted Text parts on the placeholder pages, instead of URL Redirects.  For more detailed instructions on both approaches, download the Word doc attached to this Knowledgebase article.

Steps to Duplicate

 Steps to duplicate:
  1. Go to the BBIS admin page and select e-mail > lists
  2. Create a new list with recipients
  3. Go to e-mail templates > create a new template
  4. In the design add the link for the privacy page and communication preferences links
  5. Add a new link to an external page like https://www.google.com
  6. Go to e-mail > scheduled email
  7. Create a new schedule e-mail using the template and list above and let it run
  8. The e-mail will not send
