Leading and trailing spaces can be saved to database when adding a zip/post code. The add form does not trim them when saving.
We are evaluating this for a fix in a future service pack.

Example below is on a UK set CRM install, so it's a UK post code


1. Go to the constituent functional area
2. Search and select a constituent record and go to the contact tab
3. For the addresses section click add and add an address, example:

Type: Home
Country: United Kingdom
Address: 4 Battlebridge Lane
City: London

Postcode: _SE1 2HX_    (where _ is a blank space)

4. Click save
5. On the address entry click edit and notice the leading the trailing space has been saved
