I'm receiving an "Invalid Username/password or URL" when trying to log in to the GIFTS Online Link to Outlook plugin

As per KB 116924, I had to download and install the latest version of the GIFTS Online Link to Outlook plugin to be compatible with TLS 1.1+. After downloading and installing the plugin, I receive an error that says "Invalid Username/Password or URL" when I try to log in. 
The "Invalid Username/Password or URL" error generally indicates an outdated version of the GIFTS Online Link to Outlook plugin. You should be able to resolve this by doing the following:

1. Close Outlook. 
2. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Windows 7). 
3. Uninstall GIFTS Online Link to Outlook plugin. 
4. Also uninstall the following Outlook Add-In items, if present: 
Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 Primary Interop Assembly 
Visual Studio 20xx Tools 
5. Restart your computer. 
6. After rebooting, open Outlook and make sure the above Add-Ins have been removed. 
Outlook 2003: Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-In Manager 
Outlook 2007: Tools > Trust Center > Add-Ins 
Outlook 2010: File > Options > Add-Ins 
7. Close Outlook. 
8. Install the plugin again.

If you still receive the error after going through these steps, it is most likely due to your Office program still sending requests over TLS 1.0, which was deprecated on March 15, 2018. In order to update your Office apps, you can follow the steps outlined here:
