Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'PostDate' is not a valid value - when scheduling data-driven reports using OLTP as the data source

When scheduling data-driven reports using OLTP as the data source, one may find the following error in the report logs when the front end shows "Done" 1 processed of 1 total; 1 errors":

Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'PostDate' is not a valid value
The date being sent as a parameter for the report is in a 'mm/dd/yyyy' format. This is not compatible within the SSRS report which looks for the date in a 'm/dd/yyyy' format. Using the below function should fix the issue:

FORMAT ( POSTDATE, 'd', 'en-US' )
