When viewing an email sent from your Blackbaud product, you may notice an alert message: "This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be. Learn about spoofing."
You may notice this happens while using Outlook.
This alert is entirely unique to your organization's mail network as explained by Microsoft's documentation. Learn more about spoof intelligence. This warning displays when it is enabled by your local IT administrator. The error means the entity that sent the email is not the same entity as the sender domain, which is true for all Luminate emails.
At times, this alert can be resolved by adding an SPF Record (Sender Policy Framework) entry to your DNS (Domain Name System) records. Additionally, having an SPF record set up on your domain can help to prevent emails from being identified as SPAM.
Configuring DNS records are not supported by Blackbaud, as different providers have unique means in updating DNS records.
Please contact the appropriate software vendor or IT professional for assistance with this process or issue, which is beyond Blackbaud's scope of support.
