eTapestry can send a one-off email from an interface in the program or using the locally installed default email program. This is a user set option that can be set differently for each user.

To review the settings for your eTapestry User account:
  1. Navigate to Management > My User
  2. Click Preferences in the account header
  3. Scroll down to Navigation Preferences panel
  4. Locate the option of "Use an external program for email" and review its setting:
    • Make this unchecked if you want eTapestry to open a screen to send a one-off email. (Note: This may be the option to consider if you access/work in eTapestry from multiple locations.)
    • Make this checked if you want the workstation default email program to be used, such as installed Outlook. (Note: This may be the option to consider if you access/work in eTapestry from just one workstation and want to use a program like Outlook for your emails there. Please consult with your IT area for assistance in setting up the external email application and configuring as the default email application on your workstation as this beyond the scope of eTapestry support.)
  5. Click Save And ... to save any changes made
