Error: The transaction must be posted already - when attempting to change the constituent on a recurring gift

When attempting to change the constituent on a recurring gift record, one may encounter the following error:

The transaction must be posted already.
We are currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future service pack. 

NOTE: While under investigation, please change the constituent for recurring gift via Revenue Update Batch.

Steps to Duplicate

1.   Navigate to any constituent record. From the constituent's record, click Add recurring gift in the Tasks menu. The Add a recurring gift window pops up.
2.   In the Add a recrurring gift window, enter any amount, select any designation, and click Save. You're taken to the recurring gift record.
3.   On the recurring gift record, click Change constituent on recurring gift in the Tasks menu. The Change constituent on recurring gift window pops up.
4.   In the Change constituent window, search for and select any other constituent. Select any Adjustment reason and click Save.
5.   Encounter error.
