Users working with our installed product may be subscribed to Plus Pack, which are additional modules that enhance the effectiveness of GIFTS. In rare occurrences, when users launch these products, it appears as though nothing happens. This is not entirely true - actions are taking place, but the files are trying to connect to your SQL database and they are failing. To ensure they connect properly, we must be certain that the GIFTS.INI file that governs this connection is set up with the correct details.
If you find yourself unable to launch any Plus Pack tools, please take the following steps:
1. In Windows, navigate to C:\Windows\GIFTS.INI 2. Open the GIFTS.INI file 3. Confirm that the information in the file under the [SQL Server] section is correct 4. Have your IT team confirm that the details after the 'Connect=' portion of the file are used to connect to your database 5. Make any necessary changes to the GIFTS.INI file > Save
