Teachers are only able to recommend courses from a specific department for the school level that the department is associated with. As an example, if there are two Mathematics departments, one for Middle School, and one for Upper School, a teacher of a Middle School Mathematics course can only recommend courses from the Middle School Mathematics Department. We can allow teachers to recommend other school level courses by associating the department with both school levels and putting both school level courses into the one department. To do so:
 
  1. Go to Core > School > Departments & Courses
  2. Search for the department in question and click the edit pencil
  3. In the pop-up, mark off the other school level that the department needs to be associated with (ie: Mark off Middle School if editing the Upper School department)
  4. Click Save & Close
  5. Expand the other version of the department
  6. Click the edit pencil of the first course in the department
  7. On the General Tab, scroll down to the departments section
  8. Mark off the other version of the department and un-mark the one it is in now
  9. Click Save & Close
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 until all courses in this department are moved
