Intermittent printing in Altru when using Google Chrome

we're receiving reports that sales intermittently won't print itemized and/or credit card receipts in Google Chrome. When attempting to print sales documents in Google Chrome you may receive an error message of itemized receipt failed to print or credit card receipt failed to print. 

Additionally you may encounter issues where receipts print intermittently or the signature receipt for a a credit card transaction does not print
We are aware of intermittent receipt printing issues for customers using Google Chrome. This is a browser-based issue; however, we are exploring various ways to bug fix in the longer-term. In the immediate term, there are a couple of workarounds.
  • The first is to write the customer name and time of entry, which will allow you to find and send an email receipt to that customer at a later time.
  • The second workaround is to re-boot the computer. While we acknowledge that a restart may be inconvenient at certain high-volume times, it does temporarily fix the printing issue.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Click Sales > Daily sales
  2. Click on a ticketing button
  3. Click on Credit card > swipe the credit card
  4. Click save > Click complete
