Nonparticipant guests cannot be displayed when opening a guest record

When attempting to open a guest record in any query, an error message "Nonparticipant guests cannot be displayed by the Participant" appears and we cannot open this record.
This message will occur if the "Create a participant record for this guest" checkbox is not marked.

To resolve the issue, identify the registrant associated with the guest record and follow the steps below:
  1. Open the Event record
  2. Click on the Participants tab 
  3. Open the Registrant record which contains the affected Guest record
  4. In the Registrant's record, click on the Guests button and open the affected Guest.
  5. Mark the checkbox "Create a participant record for this guest"
  6. Save and Close
