In the Membership Renewal Window, what's the difference between active, grace and lapsed?
On the Renewal tab of a Membership Program, you can configure Altru to function in different ways before and after a member's expiration date.
In the "After the Expiration Date" section, you can choose how to label members during the time set after the expiration.
For example, if you decide the membership window will extend to three months after membership you could configure it like this:
In this example, a member would be considered Active for 1 month after their expiration. When a member has a status of Active, they will still receive their membership discounts. After the 1 month, the member will have a status of Grace for 1 month and then a status of Lapsed for 1 month.
When a member has a status of Grace or Lapsed, they will not receive their member discounts in Altru but if they renew their membership during that time period, it will count as a renew rather than a rejoin. It's up to you and your organization to decide how you want to label members after their expiration. The After the Expiration Date configuration will determine what appears on their membership record.
