1. On the Constituent's record, select the Communications tab
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Under Solicit Codes, click Add on the action bar
  4. Select the solicit code from the drop down
  5. Enter in a start/end date and comments if necessary. Note: When you run a mailing process, the program uses only solicit codes that are valid as of the run date to exclude constituents from the process.
  6. Click Save

If a new solicit code needs to be created before adding to the constituent record:
  1. Go to Marketing and Communications
  2. In the Configuration section, click Solicit Codes
  3. Click Add
  4. Enter the solicit code Name
  5. Select the Type from the drop down:
    • Optional: users can add the solicit code to the exclusions of a communication as applicable.
    • Default: the solicit code automatically appears as an exclusion for a communication process, but users can remove it as necessary.
    • Required: the solicit code automatically appears as an exclusion for a communication process and users cannot remove it.
  6. Click Save
