Error Contact Record Number Batch Number Record Field Message: A workflow or approval field update caused an error when saving this record. Contact your administrator to resolve it. Subject Data Value too Large in FIMS CRM Sync log

When reviewing the FIMS to FIMS CRM sync logs, the following error is noted:

"(contact)(contact id number)Batch#: Record#: - Field:- Message: A workflow or approval field update caused an error when saving this record. Contact your administrator to resolve it. Subject: data value too large.(text of contact activity that occurred).....(max length=255)[CANNOT_INSERT_UPDATE_ACTIVATE_ENTITY]"
This error was due to a "workflow" trigger in CRM which was setup by FIMS.  The trigger fired when a new contact was added from FIMS and it was populating the "Subject" field of the Task which is a 255 character field with the value from the FIMS contact comment field (fund or profile). 
 
To get the the code in CRM go to Setup\Create\Workflow and Approvals\Field Updates. Edit the "Subject Line Update" and change the formula from "description" to "left(description,25)"; this can actually be changed however long you wish - up to 255.
