Error: Invalid parameter length- when saving or committing a batch

When saving or committing a batch, the user may receive the following error:
Error: Invalid parameter length
This error occurs because a field in the batch contains too many characters. The most common fields to trigger this error are attribute, note, and constituent ID. The attribute and note fields have a maximum character length of 255 characters and the constituent ID field has a maximum length of 10 characters. To resolve the error: 
  1. Open the batch to the data entry screen
  2. Scroll through the batch to find look for fields that may have too many characters
  3. Delete the characters from the field
  4. Save or commit the batch 
There may be hidden fields in the batch that are triggering this error if there are characters entered in the hidden field. Refer to this article How to hide or show fields in a batch
