An error occurred before executing the process 'Marketing Effort Segment Record Count Calculation' : Error calculating the segment record counts: Invalid source code for segment '[Segment Name]'. The invalid section of the source code is of type 'User Def

If a marketing effort is created using a a communication template that includes a source code layout, saving the source code layout in the marketing effort duplicates the user-defined source codes used in the layout. However, even if the source code parts are not duplicated, if the marketing effort was created using a communication template with a default source code layout, the marketing effort segment calculation fails with the error, "An error occurred before executing the process 'Marketing Effort Segment Record Count Calculation' : Error calculating the segment record counts: Invalid source code for segment '[Segment Name]'. The invalid section of the source code is of type 'User Defined' and is named '[Source code part]'. Please enter a valid code for the marketing effort." The only workaround for this issue is to remove the source code layout from the communication template.
We are currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future service pack.

Steps to Duplicate

1) Create a marketing effort using a communication template where a source code layout is included in the template.
2) On the marketing effort page, go to Effort Settings > Source Code > Edit > Save without making any changes.
3) Notice that the user defined source code parts get duplicated.
4) Run the calculate segment counts process > Notice the error, "An error occurred before executing the process 'Marketing Effort Segment Record Count Calculation' : Error calculating the segment record counts: Invalid source code for segment '[Segment Name]'. The invalid section of the source code is of type 'User Defined' and is named '[Source code part]'. Please enter a valid code for the marketing effort" is thrown.
