Error: "Data could not be saved. Transaction (Process ID nnn) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction." - When adding a relationship

When adding a relationship using the Add relationship form on a constituent record while a constituent update batch containing relationship information is committing simultaneously, the following error is thrown, "Data could not be saved. Transaction (Process ID nnn) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction."
Should your organization receive this error please contact support and/or create a case with the specific date/time of the scenario.

Steps to Duplicate

1) Create a constituent update batch containing relationships > Commit the batch.
2) While the batch is committing, go to a constituent record > Add relationship > Fill out the required fields > Save.
3) Notice that the deadlock error is thrown.
