To create a new advisory:

  1. From the persona menu, select onCampus
  2. From the Procedure dropdown, select Advisory
  3. Click Advisories.
  4. Click Add to create a new advisory.
  5. Enter the following information:
  • Title: Name of the advisory.
  • Length: The number of continuous terms the advisory will run.
  • School Level: Specify the school level of the advisory.
  • Course Code: Use for cross-reference in external databases.
  • Standard Code: SKIP.
  • Publish to Front End: SKIP.
  • Inactive: SKIP.
  • Record Attendance: Check if attendance is required and installed.
  • Independent Study: SKIP.
  • Max Number of Requests: SKIP.
  • Schedule Note: SKIP.
  • Display in Header: Check if the advisory and advisor name should appear on the report card. Also check for use with Online Signup if advisors will be recommending courses for their students.
  • Total Credits: SKIP.
  • Specify per term: SKIP.
  • GPA Weight: SKIP.
  • Alt. GPA Weight: SKIP.
  • Transcript Category: SKIP.
  • Grade Plan Group: Select the appropriate grade plan that will be used to grade the advisory if Grading is installed (optional).
  • Compulsory: SKIP.
  • Description: Use this field to enter an optional description.

  6. Click Save & Exit.
