Prerequisites

Clients must provide the SiteMinder tools, software, and administration needed to deploy, test, and support the SiteMinder integration at their development and staging environment.

ReviewerConnect/MyGIFTS user IDs must be valid and current SiteMinder IDs. The GIFTS administrator must coordinate with the SiteMinder administrator to receive the profiles and user IDs. This is necessary to coordinate the authentication and privileges with the main SiteMinder user IDs repository.

The SiteMinder administrator will update changes to the user IDs as needed (login, privileges, etc).

The GIFTS administrator will assign GIFTS-specific groups and privileges to the user IDs as needed.

Turning on Single Sign-On Access

1. Log in to the GIFTS Administrator Module as a member of the Admin user group.

2. Select Setup > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.

3. Click the Security tab.

4. In the General Security section of the tab, select Use Single Sign On for GIFTS Connection Server.

5. Click OK.

6. Reset Microsoft?s Internet Information Services (IIS).

Changing the Request Header for SSO Vendors Other than SiteMinder

If you use an SSO vendor other than SiteMinder, you must manually add the name of the request header to your system preferences.

1. Log in to the GIFTS Administrator Module as a member of the Admin user group.

2. Select Setup > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.

3. Click the Preferences Editor button. (If you did not log in as a member of the Admin user group, this button will not be displayed.) You are prompted to save the preferences before continuing.

Caution: The changes you make using the Preferences Editor can affect many different areas of the GIFTS system. Do not make any changes other than those specified in the steps that follow. Never delete a preference unless you are specifically instructed to do so by a MicroEdge Support Specialist. The removal of preferences can disable GIFTS.

4. Click Yes to continue. The Preferences Editor is displayed.

5. From the list of folders, click System to display the system files.

6. Select Preferences and click the edit icon.

7. On a new line, type SSOHeader= and enter your vendor's request header.

Note: If you use SiteMinder, there is no SSO request header listed in Preferences. SiteMinder is the default setting.

8. Click OK.

9. Reset Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS).
