The following two types of instances generate automated emails from within the Angelpoints system:
System Generated -- For various functions (password reset, volunteer event reminder, etc.) the AngelPoints solution sends emails from a 'System' account often referred to as 'the mailer.’ By default, email from the mailer has a ‘from’ address of email@example.com set for the mailer user. This can be changed by MicroEdge if absolutely necessary. However, the emails come from the host linuxmail1.angelpointsevs.com and an SPF record exists for this server, which means that mail from an @angelpointsevs.com address is more likely to be delivered.
User Initiated -- For some functions, such as the “event promote” feature, emails come addressed "from" a user within the solution. The email address is pulled from the profile of the user who initiates the message. This is a spoofed address, (ie firstname.lastname@example.org). These messages are commonly blocked by anti-spam systems. If your email system allows spoofing then no action is necessary, except that this should be tested during your AngelPoints implementation or when a change is made within your anti-spam software.
