By default, Windows in unable to pin icons to the taskbar when the icon points to a networked location.  These steps will allow you to pin the FIMS icon to the taskbar on a workstation.    
  1. Pin Calculator to the taskbar: Click start > All Programs > Accessories > right-click Calculator > select Pin to Taskbar.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar  
  3. Locate the pinned program (Calculator) in this folder.  
  4. Right-click Calculator > select Properties  
  5. On the shortcut tab, change the Target field to N:\dlc\bin\prowin32.exe -pf N:\found\configfiles\wfound.pf -ini N:\found\configfiles\fims.ini  (You may need to change the N:\ to a different drive letter, depending on how your particular foundation has FIMS set up.  If you need additional assistance, please contact FIMS Support)  
  6. Also, change the Start In field to N:\found\fims  
  7. Click Apply  
To change the icon on the taskbar:  
  1. While still on the shortcut tab in the Calculator Properties window, click the Change Icon button.  
  2. Type in N:\found\FIMS\fims.ico (Again, you may need to use a different drive letter)  
  3. Click OK .
  4. Click OK again to close out of the Calculator Properties window.  
  5. Back in Windows Explorer, right-click Calculator and select Rename.  
  6. Type in FIMS and press Enter.  
You should now be able to access FIMS by clicking the FIMS icon on your taskbar. If the icon remains the calculator icon, you can copy the icon file (N:\found\FIMS\fims.ico) to your local hard drive (C:\windows is a great location) and then update the "calculator" properties to point to c:\windows\fims.ico.
