When a Generated Email from GIFTS Online is forwarded, the Reply To address is replaced by the address of the person who forwarded the email.
1. Ann Smith receives an email from email@example.com saying that their grant request has been approved.
2. She then forwards this email to John Miller.
3. Mr. Miller receives the email and decides to reply to ask for more details on payment dates.
4. When Mr. Miller clicks Reply, instead of firstname.lastname@example.org in the To field, he gets Ann Smith( asmith@XYZ.org ).
The last person to forward the email always becomes the default Reply To address. This is by design. All email systems operate in this manner when an email is forwarded.
