When reports are exported to Excel, there are certain settings that may not be observed by Excel, such as page orientation (landscape versus portrait). This is due to the process used during the export and the many variables that may affect page layout.

When a report is exported to Excel with the intention of printing, users should always review the end result to be sure the page settings will produce the desired result.
For example, a page set to landscape in GIFTS Online may render as portrait in Excel because it exceeds the landscape page margins there due to a slight variation in the rendering of fonts.

A simple solution to this example would be to reduce the page size by clicking on the Page Layout tab in Excel and scaling the page down to 90%. Also, if users do not intend to modify the Ad Hoc report after exporting, we recommend exporting to .PDF as that format will render most closely to the version generated from GIFTS Online.
