New Journal code is not available in the Journal column of a Journal Entry

After creating a new Journal code table entry, it is not automatically added for use in Journal Entry batches.


 

Before using a new Journal code in a Journal Entry, the code must be allowed through Business Rules.

Use the following steps to make the new code available:

  1. In General Ledger, Configuration, Business Rules highlight Journal Entry.
  2. Mark the appropriate Journal code in the section labeled "Allow these journal codes to be used during manual journal entry".
  3. The code will now be available in as a selection in the Journal column of Journal Entries.
