Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:

1. Ensure the phone type does not exist on any of the following record types: 
  • Phones on constituent records:
    • ln The Raiser's Edge 7.94 or higher in a constituent query, filter on Phones > Phone Type.
    • In The Raiser's Edge 7.93 or earlier, review all address records, not just preferred, of Individual and Organization records. Using a constituent query, filter on Addresses > All Addresses > Phones.
  • Individual relationships: In a constituent query, filter on Relationships > Individuals > Address > Phones
     
  • Organization relationships: In a constituent query, filter on Relationships > Relationships > Organizations > Address > Phones
     
  • Bank Relationships: In a constituent query, filter on Relationships > Relationships > Banks > Address > Phones
     
  • Financial Institutions: In Config > Financial Institutions, review all records listed
     
  • Participants (if the RE: Event module is present): In a participant query, filter on Address > Phone Numbers
     
2. Use the Table Cleanup facility to delete the Phone Type

3. Download and run the Delete Phones plug-in
