If the nonconstituent relationship does not exist in the database, follow these steps:

  1. When adding the assigned solicitor, click the binoculars button

  2. Search for the solicitor to see if a constituent record exists. If it does, add the solicitor. If not, click Add New and add the solicitor as a constituent.

If the nonconstituent record is already in the database, follow these steps:

  1. Add the relationship as a constituent
  2. On the new constituent record's Bio 1 tab, mark the Is a solicitor checkbox

Alternative solution:

If you do not wish to add the relationship as a constituent, consider creating a new gift attribute to track the gifts for which the relationship should be given credit.
