If not linking the membership to a gift:
 

  1. Click Records, Constituents.
  2. Click Open a Constituent.
  3. Browse to the appropriate constituent.
  4. Select the Membership tab.
  5. If renewing a membership, highlight the existing membership and click Renew. Otherwise, click New Membership.
  6. Enter the appropriate membership information. If the membership should not expire, mark the Lifetime checkbox.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Save and Close.
     
     

If linking the membership to a gift: 
      Note: If entering a pledge payment, it needs to be manually linked to the membership even if the pledge is linked. The pledge payment is not automatically linked.
 

Option A: From within a Constituent Record, Membership Tab (Add/Renew membership then link to gift)
  1. Click Records, Constituents.  
  2. Open the appropriate Constituent record.
  3. Select the Membership tab.  
  4. If renewing a membership, highlight the existing membership and click Renew. Otherwise, click New Membership.  
  5. In the Amount to Apply to Membership screen, enter the amount to apply to the membership. The amount can be less than the gift amount but not more than the gift amount.  
  6. Enter the appropriate membership information.  
  7. Click the Link to Gifts button.  
  8. Browse for an existing gift or click Add New to add a new gift.  
  9. After returning to the Membership screen, click OK.  
  10. Click Save and Close.

     
Option B: From within a Constituent Record, Gift Tab (Add gift, then link to membership)
  1. Click Records, Constituents
  2. Open the appropriate Constituent record
  3. Select the Gift tab.  
  4. Browse for an existing gift or click New Gift to add a new gift.  
  5. On the gift record, select Gift from the menu bar.  
  6. Select Link, Membership.   
  7. If renewing an existing membership, select it.  Click Renew to process the renewal from this screen.  Process the renewal, and click OK. 
    If adding a new membership, click New Membership.  Process the new membership and click OK.
  8. In the Amount Applied field for the selected membership, enter the amount to be apply to the membership. The amount can be less than the gift amount but not more than the gift amount.   
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Save and Close.

     
Option C: From within a Gift Batch
 
  1. In the batch, enter the gift information.  
  2. Select Gifts, Links, Memberships from the menu bar.  
  3. If renewing an existing membership, click renew. Otherwise, click New Membership.

    Note: If you mark the existing membership, you are only linking the gift to that membership, not renewing a membership.

  4. Select the Program/Category.  
  5. Fill in the appropriate membership information and click OK.  
  6. In the batch screen, tab to the next line to enter another gift or post the batch as normal.
