When you first install the database for any of Blackbaud's software you are provided a default Supervisor user name and password. We recommend you change the Supervisor password before or immediately after you begin storing data in the program. You must log in as Supervisor to change the master password.
Follow these instructions to change the Supervisor password:
- How to change a user's password in financial or education software
- How to change a user's password in The Raiser's Edge
If the Supervisor password was changed but no one knows the new password, refer to How to reset the Supervisor password
Note: When you log in as Supervisor, you have rights to perform all software functions, from globally deleting records to importing new records. Because the Supervisor's rights are unlimited, never take them lightly. Rather than using Supervisor as your daily login, consider using it only when you perform major processes. For your routine work within the database, use a login with more limited security rights. Doing so ensures you stop to consider the implications before making changes that may permanently alter your database.
