Using a single AR summary account and never posting applications streamlines your receivables system. If your system has multiple balancing requirements, review the Business Rule Configuration chapter of the Configuration Guide for Accounts Receivable to determine if this option meets your organization's requirements.



 

Select not to use the suspense account by following these steps:

 

  1. From the Configuration page, click Business Rules
     
  2. Click General
     
  3. Mark the Use a single AR Summary Account and never post Applications checkbox.

    Note: If this option is selected, the default AR account (the suspense account) is never required, and charges, credits, and payments are always posted to the same AR summary account. New installations default to this option.
     



 

We do not recommend changing your net asset class or switching between one and multiple AR summary accounts once activity has been entered.
