Store the data in different fields within the database, one numeric or currency and the other as a string.  In this way the number or currency values can be treated as such by the Crystal Report and the text will not limit the functions of Crystal.

If separating the data in the database is not an option formulas can be created the separate the values inside the report.  These would consist of finding the number of characters to reach the text field and then using the Left() and Right() functions to trim the results into two separate fields that can then be used accordingly.
